先月にiPhone6、iPhone6 Plusが大々的に発表されたばかりですが、今度は次世代のiPadや、Retinaディスプレイ搭載のiMac、また次のバージョンであるOS X Yosemiteの発表イベントが、10月16日木曜日に予定されているようです！
Re/codeのよれば、今度の発表イベントは前回のiPhone6の盛大なものと比べてこじんまりとする予定で、自社のTown Hall Auditoriumが用いられる予定だそう。

Sources tell Code/red the company will hold its next special event on Thursday, Oct. 16 — not the 21st. Headlining the gathering: The latest updates to its iPad line, along with those new iMacs that 9to5Mac told us about earlier this week. Also: OS X Yosemite.
今回のイベントで予想されている新製品の一つとて、次世代のiPad AirやiPad Retina miniモデルがありますが、これらはA8プロセッサの採用や、iPhone5sからiPhoneの機能として加わった、TouchIDの搭載が噂されています。加えて、次世代のiPad Airは現行モデルのカラーに加えて、新しくゴールドモデルが加わる予定です。
さらに、Retinaディスプレイ搭載のiMacですが、この解像度は何と5120 x 2880ピクセルとなる”5K”になるといわれており、27インチモデルにAMDグラフィックチップが搭載されるとみられています。Haswellプロセッサに加え次世代Broadwellプロセッサの採用が予想されていますが、発売時期は来年2015年になるとのこと。
それにしても、Retinaディスプレイ搭載のiMacの解像度にはただただ驚くばかりです！
